What is
MyGadgetsSecondLife?
MyGadgetsSecondLife is an
innovative approach to learning engineering ideas by taking apart
everyday gadgets to see what is inside them and how they work. It's
fun. It lets you satisfy your natural curiosity and connect with
the child inside you. The idea appeals to kids and young
adults, who are just too happy taking things apart and figuring
stuff out; engineering students, who are happy to connect theory
they learn to the practice and to tinker with real world stuff; and
to working engineers who gain by understanding the design of
products and the industry dynamics. MyGadgetsSecondLife, as the
name goes, also gives a 'second life' to gadgets that were just
lying around doing nothing. Rather than filling up some landfills,
we use these gadgets to inspire engineers, through workshops,
courses, exhibits, and more.
Who are the
people behind this?
MyGadgetsSecondLife is the brainchild of internationally acclaimed engineers, academics and management pros.
At the core are two hands-on engineers, Vineet Srivastava and Mehul Motani, with nearly 30 years of combined experience in electronics/communications/semiconductors education, research and industry. With a proven track record of excellence behind them, both of them share a passion to excite sharp young minds about engineering. They do so by continually asking questions, challenging the status-quo, seeking deeper answers, and connecting theory to practice, all that MyGadgetsSecondLife stands for.
Nikhil Srivastava, an MBA student at Bangalore, and Asha N. S., a senior management professional, have also been adding their creative sparks to MyGadgetsSecondLife since beginning.
We have regularly
been benefitting from our interactions with the Start-up soldier, a
best-selling management author and a renowned expert on
entrepreneurship, who has been instrumental in getting
MyGadgetsSecondLife off the ground and has been involved with it
since its inception.
